Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has sparked fresh political debate after making explosive claims about former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).
Speaking during a recent public engagement, Kuria alleged that some leaders within Gachagua’s camp have privately raised concerns about his leadership style.
According to Kuria, several DCP insiders have been reaching out to him, complaining that Gachagua runs the party in an overly controlling manner.
Kuria further claimed that these leaders have described Gachagua as “dictatorial,” accusing him of sidelining dissenting voices within the party.

He also alleged that some members are uncomfortable with frequent financial contributions allegedly demanded during political tours and mobilization efforts.
“These leaders are not happy, but they fear speaking publicly,” Kuria stated, suggesting growing internal dissatisfaction within the party that is expected to play a key role in the Mount Kenya political landscape ahead of the 2027 General Election.
However, Gachagua and his allies have consistently maintained that DCP is firmly united and focused on empowering the region politically and economically. The claims by Kuria are likely to intensify political tensions as leaders continue positioning themselves for the upcoming الانتخابات.
