Karen Nyamu is a controversial female Kenyan politician. She is a nominated senator, having been nominated by the ruling United Democratic Alliance Party after the hotly contested 2022 general elections.
Senator Nyamu has broken her silence as she attached Health Cabinet Secretay Aden Duale after what the vocal politician did.
Nairobi Senator Karen Nyamu has called on Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale to apologize for recent public statements regarding the Mt. Kenya region, arguing that broad political attacks on entire ethnic communities undermine national unity and democratic values.
Speaking on current political developments, Nyamu expressed discomfort with remarks that appear to stereotype or reprimand the Kikuyu community over differing political allegiances.
While reaffirming her steadfast support for President William Ruto, the senator emphasized that citizens retain the constitutional right to support or oppose any administration without facing collective condemnation.
She noted that political differences should be directed at specific leaders, such as former Vice President Rigathi Gachagua or former President Uhuru Kenyatta, rather than generalized across an entire populace.
Nyamu highlighted that no single politician speaks for the entire Mt. Kenya region, pointing out that President Ruto continues to command significant backing in the area.
She cautioned that sweeping generalizations undermine the administration’s ongoing efforts to foster national cohesion and equal opportunity across all regions.
Furthermore, such statements place pro-government leaders from Mt. Kenya in a difficult position, making it harder to defend the administration’s record effectively.
Advocating for a more constructive political discourse, the senator urged Duale to formally retract his comments and issue an apology.
She stressed that supporting the President and defending his developmental agenda can be accomplished without demeaning any community, reinforcing that respect for diverse political viewpoints remains essential for a thriving democracy.
