Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Kihara has launched a blistering political attack on President William Ruto, alleging that the administration relies heavily on financial patronage to win over opposition leaders and suppress political dissent.
Speaking on current political realignments and the ongoing friction within the ruling coalition, Kihara claimed that the President operates under the conviction that every politician possesses a monetary value.
She stated that the executive strategy centers on systematically buying off key opposition figures and regional influencers to dismantle competing political movements.
According to the lawmaker, these tactics are aimed at creating a compliant political environment while fragmenting the opposition ahead of future electoral contests.
Kihara emphasized that such political maneuvers prioritize individual financial enticements over structured policy dialogue and genuine national interests.
She cautioned opposition principals and regional leaders against falling prey to transactional arrangements, warning that yielding to financial inducements undermines democratic accountability and erodes public trust.
The lawmaker noted that while executive resources can sway opportunistic figures, sincere leaders focused on the welfare of ordinary citizens must remain firm against co-optation.
