The general of Police is a symbol of national Unity and his position should and must always be neutral. This was the message by a section of Kenyans after the current holder of that office attended a political rally in Nyeri.
Douglas Kanja together with other officials made an unexpected appearance at a rally attended by President William Ruto leaving Kenyans asking him to resign. The team led by the law society of Kenya asked him to step aside and allow a more neutral person to takeover. Well, Kanja has responded to those asking him to resign.

In a letter released by Kenya National Police service, Kanja has defended himself insisting that he attended Nyeri rally just to offer security support to the President of the republic of Kenya. He maintained that the service remains neutral and Kenyans should not listen to the narrative being peddled that he supports the Kenya kwanza leaders or he joined a political rally.
This is coming just hours after the law society of Kenya team demanded his immediate resignation. It is not the only LSK which demanded his removal. A section of Kenyans too demanded an explanation of what really happened in Nyeri.
