Homabay County governor Gladys Wanga has finally opened up after it was reported that his Deputy Joseph Magwanga Survived an assassination. According to a report, Magwanga was not in the car where the assassins fired several bullets at his car.
This is coming just days after Kasipul member of Parliament Honorable Charles Were Ong’ondo was killed in Nairobi. Ong’ondo was buried at his home in Kasipul.
Through his official Facebook account, Wanga has condemned the action calling on the security team to investigate the incident that led to the attempt on his Deputy life.

She has also asked Homabay residents to continue being peaceful and the government tries to find who killed Charles Ong’ondo and find closure for the family.
“STATEMENT ON INCIDENT INVOLVING DEPUTY GOVERNOR HON. OYUGI MAGWANGA
I am deeply concerned by reports of an incident involving my Deputy Governor, Hon. Oyugi Magwanga, last evening.” Posted Wanga.
“Any occurrence that raises concern about the safety and security of our leaders deserves attention and immediate action. This incident has come at a time when our county is still mourning the recent loss of Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were, the Member of Parliament for Kasipul. I urge our security agencies to move swiftly and impartially to investigate this matter and ensure those responsible are brought to justice. I also appeal to the people of Homa Bay to remain calm and united during this difficult time. Let us reject violence in all its forms and stand together for peace, justice, and the rule of law.” Added Wanga.
