Deputy President Rigathi Gachagwa is a man under siege. He is starring at possible end of his political career if his ouster becomes successful.
According to the law, anyone impeached is not allowed to hold my public office. Gachagua who only rose to power in 2017 after being elected Mathira member of Parliament will go down in history as the first deputy President to be impeached under new constitution.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagwa has opened up about the possibility of resigning before Impeachment. He was speaking to the journalists form Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Kirinyaga.

According to him, he was elected by over seven million Kenyans hence he won’t abandon them by resigning. He has maintained that his aim is only to serve Kenyans for the remaining three years.
“I was elected by Kenyans who believed in me. More than seven millons of them voted for me and the president. We are going to complete the journey together as assigned” said Gachagua.
