A few months ago, Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya made headlines after publicly revealing that Ms. Marry Biketi is his girlfriend.
Oparanya stated at the time that he does not hide his relationships and that his family is fully aware of his involvement with Biketi. The couple even shared photos together at a picturesque location, sparking widespread debate and online chatter among Kenyans.
Since then, Ms. Marry Biketi has increasingly found herself in the public spotlight, with Kenyans on social media making various claims and assumptions about her personal life.

Recently, reports circulated online suggesting that she had lost both a house and a car allegedly gifted to her by Oparanya.
However, Biketi has now come out strongly to set the record straight. In a bold statement, she warned Kenyans against spreading baseless rumors and interfering in her private affairs.
Speaking shortly after returning from South Africa, Biketi shared a video online where she was seen driving a luxurious car, sending a clear message that she remains unbothered by the speculation.
In the video, Biketi addressed her critics directly, urging them to focus on more pressing national issues rather than her personal choices.
“People should stop watching my life and instead think of paying the Hustlers Fund first,” she remarked, in what many interpreted as a sharp rebuke to those fueling gossip about her relationship with the Cabinet Secretary.
Her remarks have since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions from Kenyans. Some social media users supported her stance, noting that public figures and those linked to them deserve privacy and respect.
Others, however, argued that once she chose to publicly embrace her relationship with Oparanya, she inevitably became a subject of public scrutiny.
The controversy highlights the growing intersection between politics, relationships, and social media in Kenya, where personal lives of leaders and their close associates often attract massive public interest.
As of now, both Oparanya and Biketi have maintained silence on the deeper details of their relationship, choosing instead to brush off speculation. Whether Kenyans will respect Biketi’s call for privacy remains to be seen, but her defiant response has certainly added a new twist to the ongoing conversation.
