Speaking on the integrity of the electoral process, Nyoro challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure that every vote cast by Kenyans is protected and accurately counted.
“IEBC, we do not want you to bring us games; we are not the type of people you will steal our votes from,” Nyoro said.
The remarks come at a time when preparations for the 2027 General Election are gaining momentum.
The IEBC has recently been undertaking activities linked to voter registration, electoral preparedness and engagement with stakeholders as it works toward the next national polls.
Nyoro’s statement also echoes concerns he raised earlier this month when he warned that political leaders must not only mobilise supporters but also protect votes cast at polling stations.
“We cannot beat you in looking for votes and then fail to protect our votes,” he said during a public rally in Murang’a.
The latest warning has therefore added another layer to the increasingly heated political debate ahead of 2027.
