Video: Gachagua Finally Sets Record Straight on Taking Part in Jailing ‘Nephew’ Over Brother’s Property
LONDON, United Kingdom — Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader, His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua, has breakingly set the record straight regarding explosive allegations that he conspired to jail his “nephew” to deny him a multi-billion shilling inheritance.
The controversy revolves around Jackson Kihara Gachucha, an inmate currently serving a 20-year sentence at Manyani Maximum Prison for robbery with violence.
Emerging from a high-profile court appearance, Gachucha claimed he was framed on trumped-up charges after refusing to hand over vital estate documents belonging to his alleged late father, former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua.

However, speaking in a video captured during his visit to London, a defiant Gachagua strongly dismissed the narrative, categorically denying any biological relation to the convict.
“The man being peddled by state operatives is not even related to us. This is a manufactured script,” Gachagua stated.
The former Deputy President slammed the Kenya Kwanza administration, accusing them of sponsoring a political smear campaign to dismantle his family’s legacy. He urged the state to stop using convicted individuals to play “dirty politics” with private family matters.
Gachagua maintained that his late brother’s estate was settled transparently over eight years ago via a legally binding will distributed among 21 legitimate beneficiaries.
He challenged those weaponizing the prison drama to respect the rule of law and keep succession disputes within the courts rather than leveraging them for public character assassination.
The viral video marks Gachagua’s first direct, face-to-face rebuttal to the prison scandal, drastically escalating the ongoing political standoff between the DCP leader and his former allies in the government.
