Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been admitted at Karen Hospital, Nairobi. According to his lawyer Paul Mwite, he was admitted after serious complaints and advised to rest at the facility. The lawyers have not been allowed to meet him at this time according to Paul Mwite. Kenyans have been told what exactly is ailing him.
Senior Counsel Paul Muite has revealed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is experiencing severe chest pains, as reported by his doctors, and has been advised to rest. Muite added that the doctors did not permit him to visit Gachagua during this time.
It is claimed that the chest pains were acute to an extent that he could not present himself at the Senate. The senators will now have to make a decision on what happens next going forward. If they decide to go ahead and vote on the motion, the deputy President Rigathi Gachagua team might seek solace at the courts because he was not heard.
The impeachment motion time bound and they will have to make a critical decision that is with them law and does not violate the rights of witnesses.
