A political meeting convened by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Narok Town was briefly disrupted after a group of armed youths stormed the gathering, causing panic among attendees. The dramatic incident, captured in a circulating video, shows the youths charging toward the crowd while wielding pangas and rungus.
Witnesses reported that the attackers approached from one end of the venue, prompting women and children to flee in fear as chaos momentarily engulfed the meeting. Screams and hurried movement can be seen in the footage as the mob attempted to forcefully break up the event.

However, the confrontation was short-lived. A group of men believed to be supporters of Gachagua quickly mobilized and confronted the attackers. Also armed with pangas, they successfully repulsed the goons, scattering them from the scene and restoring order.
After several tense minutes, calm returned, allowing Gachagua’s meeting to continue as planned. Local leaders condemned the incident, calling for thorough investigations into the motive behind the attack and the identities of those involved.
Residents have urged authorities to strengthen security at political events, especially as the political climate in the region continues to heat up ahead of upcoming campaigns.
