Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has finally broken his silence over allegations that he has been abandoning the official colours of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) during his recent political rallies.
The embattled Secretary-General has recently come under sharp criticism from a section of party members allied to Oburu Odinga, who accused him of deliberately avoiding the party’s dominant orange colour in public events.
The critics claimed that Sifuna’s choice of attire and branding in rallies signaled rebellion and a possible shift in allegiance.
However, speaking during a televised interview, Sifuna dismissed the claims as propaganda aimed at tarnishing his name.
He clarified that ODM’s official colours are not limited to orange alone but include blue and white as well. According to him, those attacking him are either misinformed or intentionally misleading the public.
“I urge Kenyans to read the party constitution instead of listening to propaganda,” Sifuna stated. “ODM has three official colours — orange, blue and white. Wearing any of them does not amount to abandoning the party.”

The Nairobi Senator further maintained that a section of leaders is keen on labeling him a rebel to advance internal political interests. He insisted that his loyalty to ODM remains firm and unwavering despite ongoing internal wrangles.
Sifuna emphasized that his primary focus is to safeguard and uphold the policies and ideals championed by the late former party leader Raila Odinga. He warned against what he termed as attempts to “sell out” the party through misinformation and internal sabotage.
The remarks come amid growing tensions within ODM, with factions emerging ahead of the 2027 political landscape. Despite the pressure, Sifuna remains defiant, asserting that he will continue defending the party’s constitution and its founding principles.
