The Kisumu City manager has allowed residents to keep a vigil at the city with candles in the evening.
Police officers were forced to close the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium as residents demanded to light candles at the stadium ahead of the Arrival of the remains.
Kusumu governor His Excellency Anyang Nyongo has called on residents of Kisumu City and the rest of the neighborhood to remain calm as the process takes place tomorrow. He has asked them to pay their last respect peacefully to avoid fracus that might lead to a chaotic environment.
