President William Ruto has once again captured the attention of Kenyans after a video emerged showing him driving himself along the busy Nairobi–Nakuru Highway while outlining his administration’s infrastructure plans.

In a statement that has since dominated public discussion, President Ruto assured Kenyans that this December would be the last time motorists would experience the notorious traffic jams along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.
According to the President, the ongoing and planned expansion of the highway will significantly ease congestion once fully implemented.

He noted that the dualling of the road, once launched and completed, will ensure smooth traffic flow, reduce travel time, and boost trade between Nairobi and the Rift Valley region.
Ruto expressed confidence that improved road networks would translate into lower transport costs and increased economic activity for ordinary Kenyans.
The President further reiterated his commitment to improving infrastructure across the country, stating that roads, rail, and other transport projects are central to his government’s plan to unlock economic growth.
