KAKAMEGA, KENYA — Shock and grief have engulfed the business community in Western Kenya following the tragic discovery of the body of Kenneth Toroitich Kiplabat, a prominent Kakamega-based entrepreneur. Kiplabat, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ceenet Technologies, was found dead in Gilgil weeks after he was reported missing under mysterious circumstances.
The 30-year-old businessman went missing on May 20 after leaving his Milimani home in Kakamega. Shortly after his disappearance, his vehicle was discovered abandoned by the roadside, heavily vandalized.
The tracking of his vehicle raised instant alarms among family and security agencies, prompting a frantic multi-county search that ended in heartbreak when his body was located over 200 kilometers away in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
Known fondly to many as “Ken Ceenet,” Kiplabat was widely celebrated as a remarkably hardworking, successful, and visionary entrepreneur.
His flagship business, Ceenet Technologies, located at the bustling Ambwere Fraha Centre in Kakamega town, was a premier hub for information and communications technology (ICT) accessories, specialized in high-quality computers, laptops, cameras, and technical support.

Local business leaders and residents have expressed profound shock over the brutal killing of a young man whose industrious spirit contributed immensely to the local economy.
Detectives have launched a rigorous homicide investigation to piece together his final moments, track the perpetrators of his abduction, and establish the motive behind the gruesome murder.
