Ruto Nominated Wilson Sossion to TSC in Major State Appointments
Former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary-General Wilson Sossion is among high-profile individuals nominated to key state positions following fresh appointments made by President William Ruto.
According to an official communication from State House, President Ruto nominated Sossion and Ms. Antonina Lentojioni to fill vacant positions as members of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Their names have been submitted to Parliament for vetting and approval in accordance with constitutional requirements.
The nomination of Sossion, a veteran trade unionist and former nominated Member of Parliament, highlights a major restructuring effort across several constitutional commissions, statutory bodies, and executive departments.

Key Appointments to Commissions and Executive Restructuring
Alongside the TSC nominations, President Ruto named Dr. Duncan Ojwang Oburu as Chairperson of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA). Additionally, Flora Mutua was nominated to serve as a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The President also nominated seven individuals to the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC), a body critical in facilitating coordination between the national and county governments. The nominees include:
- Wilson Kuria Thuita (Murang’a)
- Silvya C. Apaa (Busia)
- Ahmed Kanyara Bishar (Wajir)
- Pascalyne Ntang’enoi Kimiriri (Laikipia)
- Ken Riaga (Migori)
- Evalyn Chepkirui Aruasa (Nakuru)
- Mary Nanjala Kilobi (Nairobi)
Government Communication and Executive Changes
The Public Service Commission approved significant redeployments and promotions within the senior leadership of the Executive.
Former Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has been promoted to head the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Disability Rights in the Executive Office of the President.
Concurrently, Charles Owino Wahong’o has been reassigned from the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy to the Executive Office of the President.
He assumes duties as the Acting Head of Government Communications and the newly appointed Government Spokesperson.
All legislative nominations have been transmitted to the National Assembly for consideration and formal ratification.
