Ruto Maintains Lead Over Sifuna as Kalonzo Trails in Latest Polls
President William Ruto continues to command the political landscape, defeating Linda Mwananchi Initiative’s prospective presidential contender Edwin Sifuna in the latest presidential preference survey.
According to the new poll figures, President Ruto leads the pack with a 24% approval rating. Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, backed by the growing Linda Mwananchi faction, holds the second spot at 15%.
Meanwhile, Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka trails in a distant third position at 13%.
The survey results have sparked immediate disquiet within Kalonzo’s camp.
Key allies and supporters of the veteran politician expressed frustration over the outcome, questioning the polling methodology while insisting that his true nationwide support remains underestimated.

The numbers highlight a shift in Kenya’s opposition dynamics. Sifuna’s rise to second place underscores the growing traction of the Linda Mwananchi movement.
Driven by anti-government sentiment and youth-led mobilization, the movement’s messaging appears to be resonating with voters who are seeking an alternative to the traditional political establishment.
Despite mounting economic challenges, President Ruto’s 24% approval rating demonstrates the ongoing resilience of his core political base.
However, the narrow lead between the opposition contenders indicates that the race for the opposition flagship remains fiercely contested.
With 2027 drawing closer, the figures suggest a transforming political landscape. While President Ruto holds a firm advantage at the top, the battle between emerging figures like Sifuna and established figures like Kalonzo threatens to reshape traditional coalition dynamics entirely.
