Major Boost for Sifuna’s 2027 Ambitions as New TIFA Poll Shows Surge in Popularity
NAIROBI, Kenya — Nairobi County Senator Edwin Sifuna has received a significant boost to his political footprint following the latest public opinion poll released by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA). The findings highlight a dramatic leap in his national popularity ratings, underscoring growing momentum among the country’s youth.
According to the latest survey, Senator Sifuna’s presidential preference rating jumped to 15%, up from 10% in the previous release.
This rapid rise has seen him leapfrog established political heavyweights, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who trailed at 13%, as well as former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i. Incumbent President William Ruto maintains the lead at 24%. 2027 Presidential Ratings (TIFA Poll) ===================================== President William Ruto | ██████████ 24% Edwin Sifuna | ███████ 15% Kalonzo Musyoka | ██████ 13%
Although the vocal Nairobi Senator and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General has not officially declared a bid for the top seat, political analysts view the surge as a clear sign that his grassroots traction is expanding rapidly.

Sifuna’s energetic opposition stance and outspoken defense of public interests—particularly through his “Linda Mwananchi” stance—have struck a strong chord with Gen Z and millennial voters who are seeking fresh leadership.
The survey underscores a changing political landscape ahead of the next general election. Observers note that if Sifuna decides to enter the presidential arena formally, his ability to mobilize the youth vote could disrupt traditional voting blocs and position him as a main contender for the country’s top job.
