Kileleshwa Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Robert Alai has issued a fresh statement following the emergence of CCTV footage showing a confrontation between him and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Hon. Babu Owino.
The video, which has circulated widely on social media, appears to contradict Alai’s earlier claims that he did not draw a firearm during the incident.
Before the CCTV footage surfaced, Alai had publicly denied allegations that he brandished a gun during the altercation. However, after the video emerged, the MCA revised his account, explaining that the firearm seen in the footage was not intentionally drawn.
According to Alai, the gun—allegedly holstered at his waist—was almost slipping during the scuffle, prompting him to adjust it. He maintains that this action may have been misconstrued as drawing the weapon.
