One person has been confirmed dead following violent clashes between Gor Mahia and Nairobi United fans at Dandora Stadium, casting a dark cloud over what was meant to be an exciting football encounter.
The tragic incident occurred as supporters exited the stadium after a tense match that ended in a 1–1 draw.
According to eyewitness accounts, the atmosphere was peaceful at the start of the game, with fans from both sides cheering passionately for their teams.
However, tensions reportedly escalated towards the end of the match and spilled over outside the stadium.
Sports journalist Kevin Teya reported that a fight broke out between rival supporters, leading to chaos as stones were thrown indiscriminately.

During the clashes, one fan sustained fatal injuries, leaving a family in mourning. Several other supporters were reportedly injured, though the exact number is yet to be confirmed. Security personnel were overwhelmed as they attempted to restore order amid the unrest.
By the time of publishing, neither Gor Mahia nor Nairobi United had issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Police have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and to identify those responsible for the violence.
