Hundreds of Mombasa residents turn out to witness the unique funeral procession of billionaire Hasmukh Patel.
The body has been placed in a sitting position ahead of his cremation ceremony. The unique ceremony has elicited mixed reaction online from a section of Kenyans who have not witnessed such thing before.
Speaking to one of the residents. He said this is the first time to witness such culture. He went on to advocate for more such revelation as a sign of growth in diversity.
” We have never seen much thing before. He was just seated like he is a live. was moved around the city for people to see and celebrate him for what he did to them” said Amir.
Well, his family has come out to reveal why they opted for such before cremation. According to them it was a sign of honoring his legacy and belonging. They continued by saying that, by doing so, they felt like he is still living among them.
He is honoured for his philanthropic gesture that saw several poor families benefit from his numerous donations. Patel funded so many students academic process through donations. He also fed the poor especially during COVID-19 pandemic. He will surely be missed by many. May his soul rest in peace.
