Orange democratic Party leader, Honerable Raila Odinga is aiming for Ethiopia for AU top job. He has been campaigning by meeting various leaders across Africa asking them to support his bid. He was endorsed by President William Ruto which is one of the requirements to become AU Chairperson.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION.
For one to be cleared to vie for the AU Chairperson. He or she must at least have a degree. Just like any other candidates. Odinga is expected to share his academic qualifications to AU vetting board after declaring his Candidature and President backing.
Well, his academic qualifications has sparked a mixed reactions online after it was shared online. Kenyans have noticed something special in his certificates.
It has emerged that in Odinga’s qualifications. There is no clear indication of having obtained a degree. It is showing that, he transitioned from a diploma qualification straight to Masters degree. Something that is impossible in today’s education system.

However, After doing some further research. It was noted that. The old system of education during his time did not necessarily have degree qualification. Diploma holders were considered to have same qualifications as that of current degree holders. With a diploma, one joined masters programs without any restrictions back then.
Kenyans Reactions.
Several Kenyans took to X account to share their views on ” special” Raila’s qualifications. Some have indeed agreed that he got the requirements legitimately and should not be criticized. But rather be supported by Kenyans.
” We should support one of our own as Kenyans instead of bashing him. He has been around fighting for our rights here in Kenya. Let us respect him and wish him well in Ethiopia” posted Jacob.
” Raila Odinga is qualified. Those doubting his qualifications should check with old Germany system of education.” Said Sheila.
