President William Ruto has announced new appointments to his government, a move that has garnered significant public attention.

The changes were communicated through a letter released by Head of Public Service Felix Kosgei. They come just weeks after a major cabinet reshuffle. This reshuffle saw the dismissal of several key figures.

Among the notable appointments is that of Moses Kuria, the former Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Industry, and Investment. Kuria has now been brought back into the fold as part of President Ruto’s economic advisory team.

This role marks a swift return to government service for Kuria. He had been relieved of his ministerial duties earlier this month.

His inclusion in the advisory team signals President Ruto’s continued confidence in his economic insights. This is despite his recent ousting from the cabinet.

Another significant appointment is that of Dennis Itumbi, a well-known blogger and digital strategist. Itumbi has been named the head of the newly created Digital Creative Economy docket. This new position falls under the Executive Office of the President.

This role highlights the growing importance of the digital economy in the administration’s vision for Kenya’s future.

Itumbi’s new position is expected to bolster the government’s efforts in harnessing the potential of the digital creative sector. This sector is a key area for innovation and economic growth.

These appointments are part of President Ruto’s broader strategy. He aims to align his government with his economic and digital transformation agendas.

The President brings in trusted allies and experienced individuals. He aims to strengthen his administration’s capacity. The goal is to deliver on its promises to the Kenyan people.

The reshuffle has sparked discussions across the country. Many are keenly observing how these changes will impact the government’s performance in the coming months.
