For almost a week now, Kenyans have been feeding on information of a possible removal of National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula from the office. Screenshots allegedly from various media houses illustrated how the plan to remove Wetangula was hatched and the role of the ODM party in it.
It was reported that the Orange Democratic party was fronting Rarieda member of Parliament Otiende Amollo as the next speaker. The debate has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans, especially those allied to Wetangula. Well, Orange democratic Party MP has set the record straight on their plan.
According to Homabay Town member of Parliament Peter Kaluma, who is also a close ally of Raila Odinga. The orange Democratic party is not interested in removing Moses Wetangula from his seat. They are only interested in stabilizing the country and not creating disunity among the ruling coalition.

Kenyans are really waiting to see what will happen going forward. After impeachment of Gachagua, there are speculations of possible removal of Wetangula over his refusal to fold his Party. Wetangula rejected any push of him to fold the Ford Kenya party despite pressure from those allied to President William Ruto. He is determined to keep it for bargaining power ahead of a possible realignment in 2027.
“RT. Hon. Moses M. Wetangula, EGH, the Speaker of the National Assembly, is the 3rd in command in Kenya.
Those drooling over his seat and using the media to propagate unfounded propaganda should know the seat of the Speaker of the National Assembly will only be vacant when he moves up and higher in the ladder of leadership in Kenya.
@TheODMparty is here to help stabilise the State, not for parochial pursuits.
God Bless Kenya.” Posted Kaluma.
