Speaking at a church service in Mount Kenya region. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagwa dismissed claims that former agriculture cabinet Secretary Linturi was dismissed due to incompetence.
He set the record straight amid clups from the congratulation who seemed to agree with his remarks. Gachagwa alleged that it was just because of pure political dynamics that let to President William Ruto firing him.
Linturi is our son. He did a wonderful job as a cabinet Secretary. Performed more than we expected as a government and we loved his work. However, he lost his position due to politics. I know there’s god of second chance and more doors will open for him.” Said Gachagwa.
Cabinet Dismissal.
President William Ruto dismissed his entire cabinet after Generation Z protests. Some of the key names that were on the chopping board are; Linturi, Kuria, Miano and Ababu Namwamba. They were let go and never rehired.
The president brought in new faces from opposition sparking mixed reaction from the youths. They wanted the whole cabinet to to home and fresh faces appointed. Well, that did not happen, instead, Ruto reappointed his close allies back to various dockets.

The head of state claimed he formed a cabinet of national unity after soul searching. He asked those he appointed to focus on working for Kenyans and not showing opulence.
