New Twist in Jirongo’s Death as Climax Driver Is Ordered to Present Himself to a Police Station Over This
The death of former Lugari Member of Parliament, Hon. Cyrus Jirongo, has taken a new turn after police ordered the driver of a Climax bus involved in the fatal crash to present himself to a police station for further questioning.
The move comes amid growing public pressure and emerging inconsistencies surrounding accounts of how the tragic accident occurred.
According to initial statements recorded by the bus driver, the late Jirongo allegedly joined the highway from a petrol station without giving way to oncoming traffic, leading to a collision with the Climax bus.
The impact reportedly resulted in Jirongo’s car being rammed off the road, causing fatal injuries. However, fresh details and eyewitness accounts have raised questions about the accuracy of that version of events.

Police sources now say the Climax bus driver has been summoned to report to the Naivasha Traffic Base to assist investigators, after discrepancies were noted in his narration of the incident.
Investigators are seeking to establish the exact sequence of events, including the speed of the bus, visibility on the road, and whether traffic conditions contributed to the crash.
Adding to the controversy, a watchman at the petrol station where Jirongo reportedly stopped disputed claims that there was a traffic jam at the time.
The watchman stated that the former MP arrived at the station but did not fuel, instead driving off shortly afterward.
Moments later, as he joined the highway, his vehicle was struck by the oncoming bus and allegedly dragged for nearly 100 meters from the point of impact.
The new developments have fueled public debate, with many Kenyans calling for a transparent, thorough investigation to clear doubts and assign responsibility where necessary.
Police have assured the public that all witnesses will be interviewed and forensic evidence analyzed to determine whether the crash was a case of dangerous driving or a tragic accident.
As investigations continue, the family and the nation await clarity on the circumstances surrounding Jirongo’s untimely death.
