The former Budget Committee Chairperson Honorable Ndindi Nyoro has thrashed the public address made by President William Ruto at the bicameral Parliament just a few days ago. In Ruto’s speech, he explained how his administration has stabilized the dollar since taking office in 2022.
He also explained how the rate of construction has improved in Kenya since the commencement of the affordable housing projects.
Well, speaking at Parliament on November 25, 2025 while reacting to the Presidential speech in Parliament a few days ago. Nyoro claimed that in 2022 when the current government took office, the shilling was selling at 118 shillings against the dollar.

But right now, the shilling is at 129 shillings against the dollar. Therefore, it was not accurate for the President to take credit for stabilizing something that went up when he was in power.
On the contraction material uptake rate. The legislator Claimed that the uptake of cement and other materials in the construction industry went down by about 2 .5 percent and it is therefore not right to say it is up from President William Ruto’s speech.
