Moses Kuria Kuria alleged that the 2013 election was heading for a runoff until a legal battle over rejected votes changed the situation.
He claimed that he, Dennis Itumbi and Jematiah challenged the counting of rejected votes in court, arguing that the move helped prevent a second round of voting.
Kuria further alleged that the election results were manipulated through the IEBC servers to ensure Uhuru avoided a runoff.
He named former Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir as among those he claimed were involved in the alleged operation.
According to Kuria, the strategy was not limited to the courtroom.
He claimed that political actors worked behind the scenes to influence the final outcome, describing the 2013 contest as one in which Uhuru narrowly secured the required threshold.
His remarks come at a politically sensitive moment, shortly after Uhuru publicly questioned the legitimacy of President William Ruto’s 2022 victory and said he knew Raila Odinga had won that election.
Kuria’s latest claims have therefore added another dramatic chapter to Kenya’s long-running debate over electoral credibility.
However, the allegations remain claims by Kuria and would require independent evidence and verification before being treated as established fact.
