Chief Justice Martha Koome has finally opened up on being influenced by government operatives in issuing rulings. This is coming just days after Kenyans accused her of leaning towards the executive instead of being an independent entity.
This came after the supreme court Issued a ruling on the 2023 finance bill. They ruled that public participation was well conducted despite the court of appeal and the high court stopping the bill on the public participation ground. Well, she has set the record straight on people forcing her to issue rulings in their favour.

Speaking at Specie FM today. The supreme court Claimed she cannot be influenced by anyone since the law is very clear on what is supposed to be done. She continued by saying, Kenyans can predict the outcome of any judgement by reading the constitution and following the laid down procedures.
“Our court system is very much available for Kenyans. We serve justice as prescribed within our constitution of Kenya. The issues of being influenced to render judgement in a specific way. I have never been influenced at all, my work has always been within the law of the land. That’s my message to Kenyans listening to me today.” said Martha Koome.
