CNN International Correspondent Larry Madowo has once again sparked widespread debate online after exposing what he described as a shocking infrastructure failure at a major international airport.
Known for his fearless journalism and sharp eye for detail, Madowo shared images showing water leaking inside Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, prompting fresh conversations about accountability and standards in global transport hubs.
In the images shared on his social media platforms, water could be seen dripping from the ceiling onto walkways, with basins and containers placed on the floor to prevent the area from flooding.
The scenes surprised many, considering Schiphol is one of Europe’s busiest and most respected airports. The post quickly went viral, attracting reactions from people across the world, some expressing disbelief while others praised Madowo for highlighting issues often ignored by authorities.

This latest expose comes only months after Madowo called out Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) over similar leakage problems during heavy rains.
At the time, his reporting triggered mixed reactions, with some Kenyans applauding his honesty while others accused him of tarnishing the country’s image. However, the journalist maintained that pointing out problems is the first step toward fixing them.
In recent weeks, Madowo has also been at the center of regional controversy following hard-hitting CNN reports on Tanzania’s general election, which led to official responses from the Tanzanian administration.

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also publicly criticized the journalist, accusing him of being influenced by foreign interests to portray African countries negatively.
Despite the criticism, Madowo has remained consistent in his stance, emphasizing that journalism should focus on facts regardless of geography.
His latest Schiphol Airport post has reinforced his message that infrastructure challenges are a global issue, not an African-only problem. As discussions continue online, many see his work as a reminder that transparency and accountability should apply equally across the world.
