NAIROBI, Kenya — Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has issued a scathing warning to the United Opposition, declaring that their ongoing political maneuvers will not stop a formidable Kenya Kwanza administration from securing victory in the 2027 general election.
Taking to his social media platforms, the bold second-in-command did not mince his words, insisting that the opposition faction is entirely unprepared for the political juggernaut awaiting them.
Kindiki took direct aim at the opposition’s strategic delays, particularly their hesitation in naming a joint presidential flagbearer to challenge President William Ruto.
According to the Deputy President, this tactical hesitation is a sign of internal weakness that will ultimately cost them the election.

He dismissed the opposition’s plans as dead on arrival, stating that no amount of late-stage planning would alter their political fate.
“It matters not that the policy-bankrupt opposition will agree to support one from among themselves,” Kindiki asserted. “Even delaying the unveiling of their flagbearer to the last minute will not help. It’s a fait accompli.”
The DP’s remarks come amid rising political temperatures as the United Opposition—which includes prominent figures like Kalonzo Musyoka and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua—strugles to consolidate its ranks and beat self-imposed deadlines for naming a single candidate.
Kindiki’s aggressive posture signals that the ruling coalition is already shifting into high gear for 2027, treating their re-election as a settled matter.
Reiterating the government’s focus, Kindiki maintained that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains unshaken by the opposition’s push.
He emphasized that the ruling alliance is fully prepared to defend its track record, leaving the fragmented opposition with no path to victory when the country heads to the polls.
