Former Baringo County Senator and KANU Chairperson Gideon Moi has publicly outlined what President William Ruto must do to secure victory in the 2027 General Election, urging the Head of State to focus less on political messaging and more on delivering tangible results for Kenyans.
Speaking in Ruai during a wedding ceremony, Gideon Moi said President Ruto’s path to a second term depends squarely on whether Kenyans can clearly see the fulfillment of the promises made during the 2022 campaign.
According to Moi, slogans and persuasion alone will not guarantee re-election unless they are backed by visible achievements on the ground.
President Ruto and his allies have in recent months intensified efforts to rally support for a second term, arguing that his administration is laying the foundation for long-term economic transformation.
The President has repeatedly cited affordable housing, industrial growth, and economic reforms as part of his vision to elevate Kenya to a “Singapore-like” status.

However, Moi cautioned that Kenyans are increasingly demanding accountability and proof rather than projections.
He noted that if the government delivers on key pledges—such as job creation, lowering the cost of living, and improving livelihoods—the popular “two-term” narrative would naturally take shape without aggressive political campaigning.
“Let the evidence speak for itself,” Moi said, adding that development outcomes would be the strongest campaign tool for the President heading into 2027.
Moi’s remarks come just weeks after he and President Ruto agreed to work together following a meeting at State House.
That political rapprochement saw Moi withdraw from the Baringo senatorial race, a move that significantly lowered political tensions in the Rift Valley region.
Political observers view Moi’s advice as both a show of support and a subtle warning, reflecting growing public expectations for performance-based leadership as Kenya edges closer to the next electoral cycle.
