Farouk Kibet Attacks Sifuna, Questions His Presidential Ambitions
President William Ruto’s personal aide, Farouk Kibet, has launched a scathing attack on Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, questioning his experience and suitability to lead Kenya.
Speaking at a fundraiser in Malava on October 19, 2026, Kibet argued that Sifuna lacks the political experience and development agenda required to seek the country’s top office.
The presidential aide pointed out that Sifuna is serving his first term as senator, claiming the Nairobi lawmaker has yet to demonstrate the leadership credentials needed for the presidency.
Kibet also criticised what he described as Sifuna’s limited messaging during public engagements.
“Sifuna kazi yake ni kusema tu mnaniona vizuri, he lacks an agenda for this country so electing him will be a mess,” Kibet said.
He went further to describe the senator as a scam while challenging him to explain his vision for the country.

Kibet also accused Sifuna of receiving financial support from former President Uhuru Kenyatta, alleging that the money was intended to undermine the government’s development agenda. However, he did not provide evidence to substantiate the claim.
The Ruto ally subsequently urged opposition leaders to abandon their confrontational approach and support the President, arguing that cooperation would allow the government to implement its development programmes.
Kibet Turns His Attention to Natembeya
The presidential aide also directed his criticism at Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, accusing him of prioritising political slogans over development.
Kibet took issue with Natembeya’s “TAWE” slogan, arguing that it would not deliver meaningful benefits to residents of Trans Nzoia County.
He further accused the governor of opposing government projects and warned that his political activities could attract a strong response from the administration.
“George Natembeya has no value. His work is to stop projects that benefit his Trans Nzoia people. He must be called out or the government will go after him,” Kibet said.
The remarks highlight escalating political tensions as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Sifuna and Natembeya have increasingly emerged as vocal critics of the Ruto administration, prompting sharp responses from the President’s allies. Their political disagreements are likely to remain a subject of debate as campaigns and alliances take shape.
