Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has finally broken his silence following last week’s awkward moment at an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) rally in Siaya County, where Oburu Odinga publicly lamented the absence of a DJ to play music during his entrance.
In a video that quickly went viral, Oburu appeared visibly frustrated as he repeatedly called on the DJ to cue the music meant to usher him to the podium.
The incident sparked mixed reactions online, with some questioning whether there were internal wrangles within the Orange Democratic Movement.

Addressing the matter, Sifuna dismissed claims of disorganization, offering a different explanation for the confusion. According to the senator, the party’s regular DJ was unavailable at the time, leading to the delay that played out before the crowd.
Sifuna went further to clarify that the ODM DJ remains loyal to former party leader Raila Odinga and is currently working closely with his camp.
He added that the DJ strongly believes in the vision Raila championed and supports leaders who continue to uphold those ideals.
The Nairobi senator maintained that the incident should not be blown out of proportion, emphasizing that ODM remains united and focused on strengthening its grassroots mobilization ahead of future political engagements.
