Mathira, Nyeri County – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a stern warning to President William Ruto, suggesting that individuals within his administration may be plotting his failure.
Speaking at a church service in Mathira, Nyeri County, Gachagua expressed concerns about the conduct of some officials working in the Office of the President at Harambee House.
Gachagua specifically pointed fingers at unnamed individuals in the Office of the Interior Cabinet Secretary and Harambee House, accusing them of reopening bars that were previously shut down as part of the ongoing fight against illicit alcohol and drugs in Central Kenya.
The Deputy President emphasized that these actions undermine the government’s efforts to curb alcohol abuse in the region, which has been a significant issue affecting local communities.”
The fight against alcohol abuse in Central Kenya is being sabotaged from within.
Some people in high offices are working against our efforts by reopening bars that were closed for operating illegally,” Gachagua stated.
“This is a serious matter, and it is imperative that President Ruto takes immediate action to address it.”
Gachagua’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions, highlighting a potential rift between the two leaders who rose to power through their “Hustlers Nation” campaign.
The campaign, which appealed to the common citizens and promised to tackle issues such as unemployment and corruption, now faces scrutiny as internal conflicts emerge.
Supporters of Gachagua argue that his warning is a necessary step to protect the integrity of the administration’s policies and ensure that the fight against illicit alcohol is effective.
However, critics suggest that the Deputy President’s public warning could indicate deeper divisions within the government, potentially affecting its stability and ability to deliver on its promises.
As the situation develops, all eyes will be on President Ruto’s response to these allegations and the actions he takes to address the concerns raised by his Deputy.
The unity and cohesion of the “Hustlers Nation” administration will be crucial in maintaining public trust and achieving their stated goals for the nation.
