Regional Influence & Presidential Preference
The surge in support for DCP comes amid growing political activity tied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s appeal against a High Court decision upholding his impeachment. Regional data indicates that DCP’s strongest backing is concentrated in the Mt Kenya West, Mt Kenya East, Mt Kenya Diaspora, and Maa regions—areas where political realignments have intensified following high-profile executive shifts.
In the individual presidential race rankings, President William Ruto leads with 45.1 per cent preference among respondents. Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna ranks second with 19.6 per cent following the launch of his Linda Mwananchi movement, followed by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at 10.3 per cent and former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i at 7.2 per cent.
The Politrack Africa survey was conducted between September 15 and September 25, 2026, sampling voters across all regions to capture an updated snapshot of the country’s political landscape.
