Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua moved to court to stop his removal from office. His Lawyers claimed he was not given a fair hearing in his case hence violation of his rights.
This was after he fell sick during the senate session, forcing his family to rush him to Karen Hospital where he is still recovering from acute chest pains. Well, the high court has stopped his replacement.
Justice Chacha Mwita while at Milimani law courts has issued orders stopping any replacement of Gachagua as the second in command. According to Mwita, the replacement must stop until the case is heard and determined by the courts on October 24, 2024.
Former Deputy President and his team of counsels will now have their day in court as per the new directive. Kenyans are not waiting to see what happens going forward in the event that the national assembly has already approved professor Kindiki as the new designated deputy President of the republic of Kenya.
