President William Ruto on Tuesday stirred widespread public debate following remarks he made while addressing chiefs and assistant chiefs at State House, Nairobi.
The President, who convened the meeting to outline his administration’s agenda for national governance and grassroots service delivery, made pointed reflections on Kenya’s past leadership, comparing their eras to his own.
While speaking, President Ruto revisited the tenures of Kenya’s former Heads of State, beginning with the country’s founding President, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
According to Ruto, Kenyatta laid a strong foundation for the young nation but was limited by age and the challenges of the post-independence period. He noted that although Kenyatta set important structures in place, he was unable to fully implement his broader vision.
