Tension gripped parts of Kisumu after a dramatic incident involving Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, who was reportedly chased away by a group of agitated youths ahead of the much-anticipated Linda Mwanainchi rally.
In a video that has since gone viral, the senator is seen being hurried into his vehicle by aides as a charged crowd chants slogans and demands his immediate exit from the area.
The confrontation is said to have occurred as political activities intensified in the lakeside city in preparation for the rally linked to Edwin Sifuna.
According to eyewitnesses, the youths expressed strong opposition to perceived anti-government sentiments, loudly declaring their support for President William Ruto and his two-term agenda.
They warned against leaders promoting a one-term narrative, signaling deepening political divisions within the region.
