Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday announced that he was departing London, United Kingdom, for Nairobi to attend the State Requiem Mass of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, scheduled for Friday at Nyayo National Stadium.
According to a statement from his secretariat, Kalonzo cut short his foreign tour, which was aimed at engaging the Kenyan diaspora community in the United Kingdom and across Europe, following the untimely demise of his longtime political ally and friend.
The statement confirmed that Kalonzo is expected to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, just hours before the national ceremony begins.

Upon arrival, the Wiper leader will head directly to Nyayo Stadium to join local and international dignitaries, government officials, and citizens in paying their final respects to the late opposition chief.
Kalonzo and Odinga shared a decades-long political partnership, having worked closely in both the National Super Alliance (NASA) and the Azimio La Umoja coalition.
Their collaboration was marked by a shared vision of national unity, democracy, and good governance, even as they navigated Kenya’s dynamic political landscape.
“Hon. Musyoka was deeply saddened by the passing of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and felt it important to stand with the family and the nation at this solemn moment,” the secretariat said.
The late Raila Odinga’s State Requiem Mass is expected to draw thousands of mourners, including regional heads of state, diplomatic representatives, and Kenyans from all walks of life, as the country bids farewell to one of its most influential and iconic political leaders.
