Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli has told Kenyans why he thinks the constitution of Kenya must be changed. Speaking at Khwisero today, in a church service attended by President William Ruto and his allies.
The seasoned trade unionist set the record straight why he thinks the current constitutional framework cannot allow President William Ruto to deliver his manifesto to Kenyans.
According to Atwoli, President William Ruto is not going to achieve anything within five years with the current constitution. He claimed that everything is stopped by the courts leaving the government hopeless.
“For the good development in the country, the constitution must be amended, every time a good government project is stopped by the courts. We cannot allow this to continue if we want the country to move forward. We must support the head of state to the last man. ” Said Atwoli.
Several projects Presented by President William Ruto have been halted by the courts. One of the major projects is the Adani airport lease. The case is currently in courts where Kenyans are battling to stop any lease to the Indian group.
They are claiming, the deal was conducted in darkness and no details have been shared to the general public. They are also questioning the speed at which the deal was signed and facilitated.
