2027 General Election: Oburu Odinga Warns Ruto Over ODM-UDA Infighting Threat
Orange Democratic Movement leader Oburu Odinga has issued a stark warning regarding the 2027 general election.
He cautioned President William Ruto and top coalition partners against endless political squabbles.
According to Oburu, persistent clashes between ODM and UDA could cost them the presidency. He insisted that unity remains essential for political survival in the next general election.
Threat of Opposition Edge in 2027
Speaking during a party leadership meeting, Oburu addressed rising tensions in the broad-based government. He cautioned that endless debates over regional zoning distract leaders from the primary target.

“If we focus on internal battles, we leave ourselves completely exposed,” Oburu warned.
He added that a divided administration gives the opposition a clear strategic advantage.
Setting Limits on Friendly Fire
The Siaya Senator advised members to handle political competition with extreme care. He noted that party interests must never override the bigger goal of retaining executive power.
“We can have friendly fire, but we must not push it too far,” he told party leaders.
His remarks highlight growing anxiety over party rivalries at the constituency level.
Protecting the Broad-Based Government
Political experts believe grassroots clashes could weaken voter enthusiasm ahead of the 2027 polls. Competing candidates from ODM and UDA risk fracturing support in key electoral zones.
Oburu called for disciplined coordination to secure a decisive victory in 2027. Without strict order, the coalition risks handing leverage to an aggressive opposition.
