Political analyst and activist Morara Kebaso has sparked nationwide discussions after releasing a video highlighting a life-threatening bridge in Western Kenya.
In the footage, Kebaso is seen carefully crossing a wooden swinging bridge over the River Nzoia, which connects Bungoma and Kakamega counties.
The bridge, which is heavily used by local residents, appears fragile and unstable, swinging dangerously with each step. Kebaso’s video has drawn attention to the daily risks faced by commuters, especially school-going children, who rely on this passage.

Kenyans have flooded social media, calling on both Bungoma and Kakamega county governments to urgently collaborate and repair the bridge before a tragedy occurs.
With the rainy season underway, there are growing fears that rising water levels could worsen the bridge’s condition, potentially leading to fatal accidents.
“This bridge is a ticking time bomb. Our children, who will soon be returning to school, are at risk every day,” Kebaso stated during the video. Residents are urging authorities to act swiftly to safeguard lives and prevent avoidable disasters.
The viral video has once again highlighted the urgent need for infrastructure development in Kenya’s rural regions, where residents continue to face dangerous commuting conditions.
