During the interview, Matiang’i claimed that, when bodies started popping up at the river Yala. He asked the inspector general of Police at that time to move to Yala and ascertain what was really happening there. This was the only way to get the truth of the matter.
It was at this time that he proposed for a public inquest on the matter. He claimed that when they left the office, they left the file which was open and he hoped that things would work out well for Kenyans to know the truth. His wish is for the inquest to be called so that he can tell the public what he knows and put the matters to rest.
