National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah is facing mounting legal pressure following controversial remarks he made during a live interview on The Obinna Show Live.
According to a demand letter issued by a Nairobi-based law firm, Ichung’wah is accused of making “false, reckless and malicious” statements linking Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru Mejjadonk—popularly known as Mejja Donk—to alleged criminal activities, including the 2024 attack and theft incident at former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Northlands Farm.
The letter, dated April 24, 2026, outlines that during the interview aired on April 23, Ichung’wah claimed that Mejja Donk, alongside allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, organized and facilitated the attacks.
He further alleged that planning meetings were held at Harambee House Annex and that the group mobilized individuals to infiltrate Gen-Z protests.

Lawyers representing Mejja Donk argue that the statements were widely disseminated online, attracting over 157,000 views, thereby causing significant reputational damage.
They insist the claims are “slanderous, unsubstantiated and made without any lawful justification.”
The demand letter also accuses Ichung’wah of issuing contradictory statements in different media appearances, including an earlier interview where he reportedly attributed the same incidents to the late Raila Odinga, raising questions about the credibility of his claims.
As part of their demands, Mejja Donk’s legal team wants Ichung’wah to issue an immediate and unconditional public apology, retract all defamatory statements, and cease making further allegations. Failure to comply could result in legal proceedings.
The unfolding dispute adds a new dimension to Kenya’s already heated political landscape, with potential implications for both reputations and alliances ahead of future political contests.
