Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with the international community, emphasizing the need for shared prosperity and collaborative development.
Speaking at the New Year Diplomatic Briefing at State House Nairobi, President William Ruto addressed ambassadors, high commissioners, and heads of international institutions resident in Kenya.
President Ruto highlighted Kenya’s ambitious $38 billion national transformation programme, calling on international partners to support the initiative.
“We welcome investment partnerships from development finance institutions, pension funds, and the private sector in our National Infrastructure Fund,” he said, stressing that global collaboration is key to achieving Kenya’s development goals.
On regional security, Kenya urged urgent international intervention to restore peace and stability in Sudan, emphasizing civilian-led solutions.
President Ruto also called for continued dialogue and peace efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and South Sudan, underlining Kenya’s role as a regional peace broker.

In his address, the President further outlined Kenya’s vision for a stronger Africa. He called for a better-funded African Union, a more effective Pan-African Parliament, and the operationalisation of the African Court of Justice.
“Africa must fully implement the African Continental Free Trade Area to unleash its economic potential,” he stated, highlighting the continent’s capacity for self-driven growth.
Globally, Kenya advocates for a more inclusive, representative, and equitable United Nations capable of responding decisively to complex international challenges.
President Ruto emphasized that multilateral institutions must evolve to meet the needs of the 21st century, reinforcing Kenya’s commitment to constructive global engagement.
The briefing also provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for economic cooperation.
Kenya’s diplomatic leadership, the President noted, remains committed to fostering partnerships that drive sustainable development, peace, and prosperity across Africa and the world.
