President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency William Ruto, has sparked widespread debate across the country following strong remarks he made during a wedding ceremony that was packed to the brim.
In a video that has since gone viral, the Head of State appeared visibly emotional and firm as he issued tough directives to government agencies and policymakers.
Speaking at the event, President Ruto revealed alarming information indicating that more than five million Kenyans are currently at risk due to the effects of hard illegal drugs.
He lamented that the majority of those affected are young people whose futures are being destroyed by drug dealers who neither consume the substances nor expose their own families to the danger.

Using the phrase “Hao wote wanyongwe,” the President declared that he would no longer tolerate the destruction of Kenyan youth.
He claimed to have instructed the Attorney General and relevant Members of Parliament to explore legal frameworks that would make drug trafficking a capital offence.
According to Ruto, anyone convicted of selling hard drugs would face the death penalty, a move he believes would completely deter the trade and save millions of lives.
The President insisted that the government cannot sit back and watch as families are torn apart while criminals profit from misery.
His remarks immediately triggered mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans supporting the tough stance while others questioned its legality and human rights implications.
In the same address, President Ruto also turned his attention to the gambling industry.
He expressed concern that many Kenyans are gambling away their salaries and business earnings, leaving their families angry, hopeless, and without basic necessities.
Ruto noted that excessive gambling has pushed many households into depression and poverty.
He vowed to introduce stricter regulations on gambling companies and promised swift action to protect families and restore social stability.
As the video continues to circulate, Kenyans remain deeply engaged in discussions about the President’s bold declarations and what they could mean for the country’s future.
