Kenyans witnessed a dramatic moment in Murang’a County today. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua stormed a music event that was being held at a stadium bringing everything to a standstill.
His presence was not welcomed by event organisers judging from what happened after his arrival. According to the video shared online, Gachagua was not allowed to address residents who had turned out in large numbers to enjoy themselves.
Well, one of the officials who was part of the team that organized the event has opened up on why Gachagua was not granted a chance to speak.
According to Musician Martin Wa Jane. He stopped Gachagua from speaking at his event because it was apolitical organization and Politics were not allowed. He emphasized that, it was supported to be purely entertainment and link with the people.
” I only stopped Gachagua because the event was not supposed to have any political discussion. It was purely for enjoyment. ” Said Martin
The events that unfolded in Murang’a has left Kenyans asking questions. Some have asked Gachagua to team up with other opposition leaders and run for 2027 general election.
This will be a huge headache for president William Ruto especially now that he will not get fully backing. It will be interesting to watch how things will play out going forward.
