Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a stern warning to the Luo community, alleging that President William Ruto is misleading them following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Speaking during a public gathering, Gachagua claimed that Ruto is now promoting what he called the “Singapore dream” in Nyanza, a promise of rapid development and prosperity that mirrors his pledges to the Mount Kenya region during the 2022 elections.
Gachagua reminded the crowd that in 2022, Ruto was overwhelmingly supported by Mount Kenya voters, despite late President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsing Raila Odinga.

Approximately three million people from the region voted for Ruto, swayed by his promises of transforming the region into a “heaven of development.”
According to Gachagua, Ruto is now using similar tactics to win over Nyanza residents, capitalizing on their admiration for ambitious development projects.
The former Deputy President cautioned that Ruto’s promises might not materialize, urging the Luo community to remain vigilant.
“Just like he promised Mount Kenya heaven and delivered little, the same pattern is unfolding here,” Gachagua said, emphasizing that people will realize the truth only after Ruto is re-elected.
The speech has since circulated widely online, sparking heated discussions on political strategy and regional allegiances.
