The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has officially commenced the process of replacing its current leadership, signaling the end of an era for President Faith Odhiambo, whose term is set to conclude in March 2026.
In a notice issued to all members, the LSK announced that elections will be conducted in February 2026 to fill key positions within the council, in accordance with the Law Society of Kenya Act, 2014.
The positions declared vacant include those of president, vice president, and several council representatives from Nairobi, upcountry, and the Coast region.

Odhiambo, who made history as one of the youngest women to lead the society, has been lauded for her bold leadership and efforts to champion the independence of the legal profession.
Her tenure, however, has not been without controversy, with debates around reforms, governance, and the society’s engagement with the government dominating much of her term.
As the LSK prepares for transition, attention now shifts to potential successors expected to shape the future of the lawyers’ body ahead of the 2027 General Election, where legal and constitutional issues will be at the center of national discourse.
